Locate underground services

Attend site to locate bellow ground or concealed services with electronic locating equipment prior to excavation works. According to the DBYD guidelines, the next step PRIOR TO excavation is to pot hole using a non destruction digging/hydro excavation method. Locations are to be completed in accordance with AS5488-2013 Subsurface Utility Information Standard, and are to be as much as practicable to QL-A and QL-B of that standard. Underground service locating is a risk MINIMISING process NOT a risk ELIMINATION process, although we are trained in this field, there are many obstacles and restrictions that may factor in an accurate location, eg; soil conditions, congested services trenches with additional services near by, non metallic/non ductile services.
