Guidance for Restaurant Employees

  • Restaurants are allowed to have patrons eat on-site with 50% capacity, and can still continue drive-thru, curbside pick-up and delivery orders. Restaurants must follow these directives:

  • • Employees who are sick with a fever or respiratory symptoms should not go to work, nor work the drive-through window.

  • • Practice social distancing by:

  • o Picking up your order when there are fewer customers.

  • o Having customers keep six feet of distance between each other.

  • o Utilize curbside pickup, if possible.

  • • Restaurant employees should:

  • o Wash hands frequently.

  • o Do not touch customers’ hands when passing food or drinks.

  • o Use gloves for contact with money or credit cards. Gloves must be replaced between each customer interaction. If gloves are not available, then hand sanitizer between each customer interaction is acceptable.

  • o Clean and sanitize all frequently touched items, including food preparation areas, tables and chairs, doors and door handles.

  • o Clean restrooms regularly.

  • o Wear gloves to handle money when clearing the register/cash drawer.
