Planning

  • Are there adequate safety instructions on the dispatch sheet and relevant procedures attached?

  • Is there a mutual understanding of hand signals between the operator and the signal person?

  • Are spotters required and do they understand their duties?

Suspended man baskets

  • Are suspended man baskets in use?

  • Have all permits been obtained from the jurisdictions OH&S department?

  • Is the checklist for hoisting of personnel in man basket complete?

  • Is a secondary safety line attached from the basket to above the ball/ block?

  • Is rescue equipment available and a rescue plan developed and communicated to the affected personnel?
