Pre-Bunkering Checklist for the Engineer in charge

  • Have you sounded the tank and logged the results?

  • Have you verified the bunker quantity that is required?

  • Is the 'B' flag flying/red light showing?

  • Have you checked the weather checked and noted it in logbook?

During Bunkering Checklist

Bunkering Complete - checklist for engineer in charge

  • Are the bunker valve and drain valve closed?

  • Did you log the time the valves were closed?

  • Have you closed the line valve (as required) and disconnected the bunker line from the vessel?

  • Did you cap and secure the bunker station?

  • Did you close the bunker manifold/tank valve?

  • Have you turned off the red light/put B flag down?

  • Did you inform the bridge that bunkering was complete?

  • What time did it finish?

  • Is the bunker delivery note double checked? Correctly completed and signed ?

  • Have you made the entry into the Oil Record Book?

  • Is the scupper unplugged?

  • Have you stored away the SOPEP kit, the anti-spill box and fire extinguishers as well as removed signage?
