A detailed briefing for Crew should be prepared covering all aspects of preparation of the collision mat drill. Drills should be conducted with the entire Crew. They can be done either when there are no Guests on board, or when Guests are on board. If conducted while Guests are on board, it may be useful to collect their comments and feedback.

The collision mat drill should be conducted with two key components:
1) Firstly, inboard activities to investigate the interior of the vessel and respond accordingly.
2) Secondly, outboard activities that will be conducted underwater by the Dive Crew and those supporting them. -
Did the first crew member to notice the hull breach raise the alarm?

Did this crew member immediately advise the OOW and Chief engineer?
