Drill evaluation

  • Crew member on bridge watch - name:

  • Did the officer try to contact the other vessel by VHF?

  • Did the officer conduct a visual check of the other vessel?

  • Was the piracy alarm sounded?

  • Were coastguards and/or navy immediately contacted?

  • Did the captain start moving the vesse lee side away from the approaching vessel to deter boarding?

  • Did the crew remove any potential weapons from the decks? Tools etc.

  • Did the crew attempt to block any points the pirates could board? Platforms, etc.

  • Did the crew remove all ladders that could be used to gain access?

  • Were guests and crew call to muster at the muster station? Ideally wearing their life jackets and inside locked safe

  • Were all important documents collected and grabbed? Guests and crew ID documents, cash, important ship documents, etc.

  • Did the crew lock all exterior doors?

  • Once everyone was locked in safe, who stayed on deck?

  • Did the officers and/or captain kept in constant communication with the authorities and updated them?

  • Comments:

  • Did you manage to escape the pirates or did they manage to board?

  • Once the pirates boarded, did anyone try to fight them?

  • Once the pirates boarded, did anyone try to resist?
