Job completion

  • Assess site for potential hazards

  • Check HHD for special messages before entering site

  • Has meter reader properly identified themself (if applicable)

  • If entering through a gate, did the reader close the gate behind them

  • If entering through a gate, did the reader ensure gate was latched securely before continuing

  • Did the meter reader safely access the meter box

  • Confirmed the meter number against the HHD

  • Ensure the meter and meter box is free of tampering or damage

  • Report all damage or tampering to the office

  • Update location details or account information

  • Exit the site in the same route used to enter

Probe process (if required)

  • Does the meter need to be probed

  • Did the meter probe sucessfully

  • If the probe failed did the meter reader attempt a second time

  • If the second probe failed did the meter reader attempt a cold probe

  • If the cold probe failed did the meter reader contact the office for instruction

Vehicle inspection (driving routes only)
