- No internal flat smoke detection was evident and one should be installed to BS 5839 part 6 and comprising of a mains powered optical smoke detector to the flat hallway/lobby (& each flor id a duplex flat) to protect any sleeping occupants.
- The internal flat detection is battery operated and should be replaced with a BS 5839 part 6 mains powered optical smoke detector to the hallway/lobby (& to each landing if a duplex flat) to protect any sleeping occupant.
- The internal flat smoke detection is considered old and should be placed into a programme of replacement. (Note mains powered domestic units should be replaced every ten years).
- Old and redundant detection was viewed alongside the current units and should be removed.
- The internal flat detection was beeping which indicates a battery fault and should be repaired/replaced. (Note: This responsibility may fall to the occupant and this should be clearly defined or explained in any tenancy sign up process.
