DRIVER

  • Can the driver demonstrate an understanding of the Toll Emergency Response Plan (TERP) and do they have a current copy

  • Does the driver understand the information displayed on the EIP

  • Does the driver understand the hazard of cross contamination of different dangerous goods

PRIME MOVER

  • Rego plate and label in good condition and visible

  • Exhaust directed away from tank/trailer

  • Battery firmly secured with electrically insulated acid resistant cover

  • Battery isolator outside rear of cab and clearly labelled

  • No heavy loose or unnecessary items in cabin

  • Tyres, including spares in good condition

  • Three reflective triangles, torch and tools for minor repairs

  • Erewash kit and container full and available for immediate use

  • Flashing light operational (where fitted)

  • Reverse beeper operational

  • Seat belts operational

  • First aid kit in cab - products adequately supplied and in date

  • Fire extinguishers carried as per DG requirements 1 x 10B within date and properly secured

  • Log books carried and completed when required

  • Lights all working

  • Fuel tanks to be properly vented and vents clear - fuel tanks under load fitted with steel fire screens

  • GPS tracking system fitted and working

  • No flammable or combustible liquids carried in the prime mover or trailer

  • EPG's available for products carried

  • General condition of vehicle

  • Appropriate MSDS carried

  • Matches / lighters stowed in toolbox below sleeper cab or in glovebox

  • Relevant route assessment carried in cab for destination

TRAILER

  • Rego plate and label visible and in good condition

  • Trailer DG rego licence number

  • No signs of product residue on tank or trailers

  • Tyres including spares in good condition and secured

  • Fire extinguishers as per DG requirements 1 x 60B or 2 x 30B in date and secure

  • Lights in good condition and working

  • General condition of trailer/s

PLACARDING

  • EIP's legible and visible from both sides and rear of vehicle

  • EIP's contain correct information for product being carried

  • All placards securely attached and easily removed as required

  • Correct class label securely attached, legible and visible from the front of the vehicle

  • Either a copy of the HB76 2010 handbook or the following EPG's to be carried in the DG vehicle as required
