EVALUATION

  • Are all activities performed in compliance with an accepted JSEA that is still adequate for the current tasks & conditions?

  • Do all persons appear to understand the requirements of the JSEA & have signed off?

  • Was hot work performed in an area where any of the following conditions were present:

  • Working Within 10 metres of any battery on charge? (batteries on charge produce explosive hydrogen gas)

  • Above or within 15 metres of any exposed or unprotected combustable material?

  • In or within 15 metres of any fuel store or refueling station?

  • Within 15 metres or directly above a vessel which carries or may have carried diesel oil or other petroleum products?

  • Within 15 metres or directly above any area from which spillage of petroleum products may have accumulated?

  • Are fire resistant blankets being used cover exposed combustible material?

  • Is fire fighting equipment within 9 metres of the task?

  • Are exclusion zones implemented & adjacent workers & others in close proximity warned of the risks by signposting?

  • Is appropriate PPE available & being worn? (where applicable)

  • Fire resistant & insulating gloves, safety footwear, aprons & head covering

  • Correct class of particulate filter

  • Correct filters for eye protection

  • Are fire spotters assigned for up to 30 minutes after the hot work is completed?

  • Are there any other risks or issues associated with the activities observed?
