New Starter Checklist

  • Clock In Details (Explain how to use the clock in system and set up their fingerprint)

  • Introductions (Introduce the new starter to their Team Leaders, Supervisors and Manager)

  • Issue Company Property Form (Any company property issued needs to be signed for - If lost this will be charged to the employee)

  • Walk Around (Give the new starter a tour of the warehouse and show them where the fire exits are located including office and production)

  • Toilets and Canteen (Show the new starter where the warehouse toilets and staff canteen are located)

  • Crown Holiday Booking (You can use your own login to show the new starter how to book holiday)

  • Explain Portal (Which sections/documents they need to know about)

  • Allocate a Buddy (The buddy must spend at least 1-2 days with the new starter, or until they are confident enough to pick on their own)

New Starter Documents

  • Company Sickness and Absence Policy

  • Picking or Put Away SOP (Ask the new starter to read the SOP, you should do an entire pick with them and refer back to the SOP)

  • Correct Waste Disposal SOP (Ask the new starter to read the Waste Disposal SOP)

  • Safe Systems of Work Sign Off Sheet (Ask the new starter to read each SSOW1, SSOW4, SSOW8 & SSOW11)

  • Pump Truck SOP (Ask the new starter to read the Pump Truck SOP)

  • Fire Safety SOP (Ask the new starter to read the Fire Safety SOP)

  • Manual Handling (Instruct the new starter to watch the Manual Handling Video, they will need to complete the Manual Handling Test and upload a picture of the completed document)

End Of Day 1 Knowledge Test

  • What time does your first break start and finish?

  • What time does your second break start and finish?

  • Where is the canteen?

  • Where can you smoke? (If applicable)

  • Where are the toilets?
