  • Observe the store during nightfill from a customer point of view. Do they experience the same shopping trip during nightfill hours as during the day?

  • Are all replenishment team members wearing preferred dress including work shirt, name badge, professional business pants and work shoes?

  • Did the LLTM and Replenishment team manager have a discussion around last nights performance and tonight's expectations?

  • Is the replenishment team manager competent in leading teams and managing performance, including knowing how to contact people services, how to utilise the people portal and when to reference both?

Safety

  • Can the replenishment team manager demonstrate what to do if an injury is reported to them directly or a team member hurts themselves?

  • Can the replenishment team manager describe the correct protocol for refrigeration issues, and what to record in food safety books if needed?

Productivity and Cost

  • Are the replenishment team manager's hours scheduled as supervision and not as filling hours?

  • Review the wall roster, does this reflect the nightfill planning sheet for that night?

  • Are only team members assigned to nightfill coded to nightfill on the wall roster, i.e. no ends builders coded to nightfill?

  • Are casual team members scheduled for 3.75 hour shifts and no longer to avoid paid breaks?

  • Are all scheduled team members due to finish at 12 so as to avoid penalty rates?

  • Can the replenishment manager articulate the average load hours per night?

  • Does the replenishment manager know about their SMS hours and can describe the operating ratio?

  • Does the replenishment manager know their target carton rate and are their hours scheduled in line with this target?

  • Are shifts scheduled in line with the most productive times, i.e. splitters in from 6pm, core fillers in from 8pm?

  • Is the load being split into cages in a horse shoe from the pallet to be most productive?

  • Is the nightfill being set up for success with a presorted cage with step stool and kneel pad at end of aisle ready for fill team?

  • Are runners in place to move load, overs, return loose stock and move rubbish away from the aisles, ensuring team members spend their time at the shelf edge filling?

  • Observe a number of team members are all team members filling to face on non SFP lines and filling using SFP where applicable?

  • Are all the night team aware of the flat stack process?

  • Is there a repair station available for the runner to resolve damaged product at the time?

  • Are replenishment team managers setting targets for the team to ensure that all team members are aiming for the correct carton rates during their shifts?

  • Can the replenishment team manager/ 2IC or runner describe the off fixture locations and products on them? Are they running these products from the aisles not leaving them for the inventory/ day fill to replenish?

Ends Changeover

  • Is stockroom set with clearly defined areas for LTO and promotions, to ensure that it is easy to pick advert from?

  • Are fill reports produced for ends team prior to the end team arriving to ensure they pick all new advert from the LTO prior to filling new load?

  • Observe the ends team. Have the ends build team returned all old advert to shelf prior to returning overs to the stock room?

  • Is all stock that is returned to the stock room in full OMs shrink wrapped in SFP or in original carton?
