LIFTING EQUIPMENT

(11) Section 5.4.7, NORSOK R-002 (2012 edition) - Lifting appliances shall be equipped with fixed or moveable guards in accordance with EN953 to protect persons from mechanical, thermal or other hazards.

(12) Section 5.4.8 NORSOK R-002 (2012 edition) - For both operation and regular maintenance activities, exposed areas of lifting equipment shall be designed with safety zones and distances to prevent personal being harmed or injured by moving parts. Reference is made to ISO 13857 and EN349.

(13) Section 5.7.6, NORSOK R-002 (2012 edition) - Where the power transmissions of mechanisms are not able to hold the load or moveable part of a lifting appliance, a parking brake shall be provided. Brakes shall automatically be activated without undue delay when the motion control lever is returned to the neutral position, at power failure, control failure or at emergency stop.

(14) Section 7.7, NORSOK R-003 - Trolleys without automatic brake shall always be secured against unintentional movement during and after use.

VERIFICATION & DOCUMENTATION

(1) Section 8.1, NORSOK R-003 - Before a permanent attachment point (typically lifting pad, lifting beam) for a lifting appliance is used for the first time, an enterprise of competence shall issue a confirmation that it is ready for use.

(2) Section 4.14 NORSOK R-002 (2010 edition) - Lifting equipment shall be subjected to internal verification by the manufacturer to ensure compliance with the requirements.

(3) Section E.1 NORSOK R-003 - All lifting equipment shall be accompanied by a declaration of conformity and shall be CE marked in accordance with DAT Regulation no. 820, order no. 522.

(4) Section E.1, NORSOK R-003 - All lifting equipment shall be accompanied by instructions for use in accordance with DAT Regulation no. 820, order no. 522.

(5) Section E.1, NORSOK R-003 - All lifting equipment shall be accompanied by a certificate from an enterprise of competence.
