1.0 Explanation

  • Has the driver/s been informed about the purpose of this audit <br><br>This audit is to ensure compliance with the basic legal requirements for driving hours. Drivers must understand the legal allowable driving limits and must record all driving time in their logbook, this must include driving hours outside the Environment Agency.

2.0 Driver Hours Records. - (TACHO)

  • Has the driver completed the required entries on the front cover?

  • Are all previous sheets completed correctly?

  • Have all previous sheets been signed by a Line Manager?

  • Has the driver completed the relevant sections for the days shift pattern for today?

  • Have all completed sheets been removed from the logbook?

  • Does the driver require further awareness training on Driver Hours.

3.0 Vehicle defect Books

  • Does the driver understand the defect process.

  • Has the driver completed a defect report this week. (includes 'Nil' defect reports)

  • Are there any outstanding defects in the defect book?

  • Has the driver completed all the relevant sections on each previous sheet?

  • Have all previous defects been signed off by the Service provider?

  • Is the last defect book available.

4.0 Vehicle Load and Load security

  • Has the driver received any Load and Security training.

  • Is the driver aware of the requirement to net all loads where practical.

  • Does the driver transport plant equipment.

  • Is the driver competent in the use of the height in-cab indicators and measurement equipment.

  • Is the driver familiar and confident using the restraint systems in place.

5.0 Driver pre use checks.
