  • Weight (Sea Freight - 30lb net at the time of receiving; Air Freight - 30lb net at the time of receiving; all boxes packed to minimum of 30.85lb)<br>

  • Foreign Objects/Matter (Turmeric rhizomes must be free of shoots, roots, soil and any other contaminants)

Defect Criteria

  • Minor Defects (do not effect shelf life of product): Healed growth, pest and harvest damage <1 square inch, superficial skin marking, small broken pieces

  • Minor Defects Tolerance 10% or less

  • Major Defect Criteria: Rot and mould (<0.5%), green shoots, insects, very fibrous flesh, growth / pest / harvest damage >1 square inch

  • Major Defects Tolerance 2% or less (rot and mould <0.5%)

Transport

  • Transport Requirements:
    - containers and vehicles used to transport consignments to export conveyances must be clean and fit for purpose
    - before loading, ensure container is clean and free from insects, soil and other debris
    - containers must be secured and sealed against contamination from insects, as well as to maintain the quarantine integrity of the consignment
