Indoor/Outdoor Safety Checklist

  • The following areas have been checked and have been deemed safe, clean and in good repair.

  • Floors are free from any loose or broken tiles

  • Windows and doors are free from any breakages or cracked glass

  • All equipment is in good, working order. Any broken equipment has been removed

  • Children's furniture is in good repair, stable and age appropriate

  • Outlets are covered at all times. Electrical appliances are unplugged when not in use

  • Fences and gates (including baby gates) are in good repair.

  • Sandpit is clean and raked

  • The outdoor area is clean. No animal waste, glass, syringes, rubbish etc present

  • Garbage and animal waste is not present on the playground

  • No poison/dangerous plants in play area (mushrooms, berries, or thorn bushes)

  • Standing water is emptied from all collection sources

  • The building is well ventilated

  • The centre has appropriate lighting

Emergency Procedures/Equipment

  • Two staff on premise and visible at all times

  • Qualified First Aider on the premises

  • Fire equipment is unobstructed

  • Evacuation routes are unobstructed

  • Stairways, hallways and ramps are unobstructed
