General Site

  • Have proper barricades and signage been put into place (Sump, Rotating Rods, and Exclusion zones)?

  • Are Hydraulic systems being maintained free from leaks?

  • Is fall protection available and has it been inspected?

Light Vehicle

Support Equipment

Hand, Portable Tools, & Electrical

  • Required Rig Hand Tools- Adequate, appropriate tools are available and are in good condition (No aluminum pipe wrenches).

  • Electrical cords in good condition, not cut, and have been ground checked?

  • Tool guards are properly fitted and in good serviceable condition?

  • Electrical tools-Are in good condition guarding, double insulated, and have been ground tested?

  • Oxy Acetylene-Hoses are not cracked or damaged, and handpiece is clean and leak-free. Regulators function correctly, with no leaks, and are fitted with nonreturn valves. Appropriate PPE is available and in good condition. This should include welding goggles, welding gloves, and protective clothing?

Fire Protection & First Aid

  • Fire extinguishers-Correct type or (fixed suppression system)?

  • Secured in Place- All extinguishers are securely mounted undamaged, clearly visible, and readily accessible in case of a fire.

  • Annual Inspections-All fire extinguishers have been serviced within the last year and tags are punched or the date of service is recorded on the extinguisher?

  • Flammable Material-Fuel and other flammable material is stored away from working equipment, in a cleared area?

  • First Aid Kit- A first aid kit is kept on the rig at all times, appropriate for the number of people on the rig?

  • First Aid Kit Stocked- Stock levels are maintained at adequate levels and all stock is within the use-by date?

  • First Aid Personel-Driller to be trained in first aid?

Hazardous Substances

  • Storage of fuel, gas and Oils-containers are sealed when not in use, correctly labeled, and located away from sources of ignition?

  • Storage of Chemicals-Chemicals are adequately labeled and stored properly?
