Pressurised Gas

  • There is a demolition/construction plan which identifies all hazards and assigns risks and controls to each identified hazard.

  • The project risk assessment, demolition or project safety plan identifies the hazard of pressurised gas pipelines and identifies control measures in accordance with the hierarchy of controls and relevant legislation, standards and codes

  • SWMS/JSAs have been established that identify the hazard of pressurised gas pipelines, assesses risks and defines controls to be implemented by the sub-contractor.

  • The possible confined space environmental aspects have been suitably identified, controlled and are continually monitored.

  • The project risk assessment identify confined space aspects of the pipeline where relevant and outline measures consistent with documented confined space procedures and processes.

  • The project risk assessment identifies project specific environmental aspect tha may impact on pressurised gas pipelines, assesses relevant risks and details controls to be implemented.

  • The impact of any demolition, excavation, piling, blasting and use of explosives, hot water, outriffer placement, mobile plant movements, temorary structure placement have been considered in assessing risks associated with presureised gas pipelines.

  • Hot works procedures and permit processes/records

  • Inspction records

  • Records of atmospheric monitoring

  • Confined space permit records.

  • Confirned space entry register and warning signage.

  • Location of all gas services has been identified and documented and the relecant sercices have been disconnected or made safe by a suitably qualified person prior to working on or near pressurised gas pipelines.

  • Documented process/procedure (or similar doucment) that identifies a process for identifying pressuries gas pipelines that could be affected during the course of constructuon activities.

  • Project risk assessment and relevant JSAs/SWMS identify and assess rick of contact with above ground and under ground pressurised gas pipelines and outline means for preventing impact on services.

  • Gas services exclusion zones have been identified, communicated and maintained on the project site in accordance with jurisdictional requiremetns.

  • Services detection reports and diagrams/maps are available.

  • Pipeline locations and depths ae identified and locations marked on the project site.

  • Signage and place cards are erected in locations to warn workers of services.

  • Physical barriers are installed to prevent inadvertent contact with services.

  • Positives isolation and tag out procedure and processes have been established and implemented on the project.

  • Approvals and records of disconnection form services entity have been obtained.

  • Workers have been adequately instructed and trained in the safe work methods regarding work on pressurised gas pipelines, and hold suitable qualifications to carry out the works.

  • JSAs/SWMS, precdures or similar documents identify minimum training and competencies to carry out works on pressurised gas pipelines.

  • Records of induction into applicable JSAs/SWMS content.

  • Subcontracotrs qualifications, training records and certifications where relevent.

  • An emergency plan or response process that addresses potential emergency scenarios associated with pressurised gas pipelines. Scenarios mush be relevant to site activities and risks.

  • Drill records of pipeline related emergency response scenarios

  • Records of emergency communication that may include induction and toolbox talks

  • Other hazard related activities.
