Required Pre-Approvals

  • Emergency Response Plan (ERP), Air Operations Certificate (AOC), Pilot Qualifications and Task Risk Analysis (TRA) have SUBMITTED to Cubic Defence and APPROVED

  • If required documentation cannot be produced prior to takeoff then activity must be rescheduled.

  • Aircraft is fitted with Emergency Locating Transmitter (ELT) and Satellite Tracking System

  • ELT's are a CASA requirement, flight must be cancelled if it is not present on the Aircraft

  • An assessment of DESTINATION landing location as been conducted by the Pilot

  • Consult with Pilot whether a reconnaissance trip is required before loading the passengers

  • Approvals obtained to conduct air operations in the area.

  • Seek confirmation from the Land Owner, Managing Contractor and/or Defence

  • Avoid flying in the vicinity of livestock, and homesteads or other sensitive areas to minimise noise and air quality issues from rotor wash.

  • Pre-Flight Inspection on the Aircraft completed by the Pilot

  • Wait for inspections to be completed before boarding the Aircraft

  • Are hoisting operations to be conducted

  • Has a ground inspection of the loads to be lifted been conducted with Pilot and Works supervisor

  • Have all workers involved in hoisting operations conducted a hoisting pre-start

  • Have clear abort triggers been agreed upon by all parties

  • Is there a clear and effective communication plan in place and tested

Safety Brief

  • Cubic Safety Brief conducted

  • Provide all parties with an outline of the flight path and days activities

  • Pilot Safety Brief Conducted

  • Pilot to cover off on the Hazards and Safe access and egress from the aircraft.
