Safety Guidelines

  • Follow site safety rules and your supervisor's instructions

  • Record and report equipment damage or deficiencies

  • Note and list results in the component maintenance log

  • Obtain and review manufacturer's operation and maintenance instructions

Maintenance Procedures

  • Validate proper fueling operations

  • Make sure fuel transfer procedures are posted at the service CAC and at Post 1

  • Verify that the site operating staff (FM and Guards) and fueling the contractor staff are properly trained and qualified to operate the site fueling and tank control system

  • Watch fuel filling operations for compliance with posted procedures

  • Note and list tank level at the beginning and end of filling operations

  • Be sure any fuel spillage is cleaned

  • Verify that the fueling equipment and stations are properly secured upon completion of fueling

  • Check to be sure there is no difference between fuel level meters, amounts ordered and amounts delivered.

  • Test automatic safety controls

  • Verify that there is no accumulation of spillage or fuel collection in the transition sumps

  • Cycle all fuel valves
