  • Check the area is clean before commencement and access restricted for through traffic.

  • Any dubbing out agreed prior to start.

  • Check surfaces clean, the key/surface preparation is acceptable, the bonding agent is as specified and all first fix items e.g. electric boxes are installed

  • Check ambient temperature is within specified limits

  • Check adequate lighting to enable task to be completed

  • Check that Windows and pipes are protected against damage and plaster splatter.

  • Check angles, reveals and beads for margins, levels and plumb

  • Check that the surfaces are flat, level and plumb

  • Check ceiling lines and reveals to openings and windows and ensure they are level and plumb

  • Check the plaster is finished at correct line at ceiling and skirting levels

  • Check reinforcement has been applied over joints or changes in background materials - particular attention to be paid to door jambs and expansion joints.

  • Check finished coat thickness is correct and is trowelled smooth and consistent, with no bubbles or trowel lines and is finished to specified tolerances.

  • Correct Mist coat paint has been used?

  • Mist coat applied as per manufacturer guidance and site specification
