  • Review Safety Communication Board with Safety Captain. Walk through board. Are all sections up to date and complete?

  • Review safety meeting notes. Are they meaningful, updated, and followed through upon?

  • Do employee observations show safe work practices?

  • Hold a safety huddle and discuss safety with 3-5 associates. Discuss numbers and gauge associate awareness.

  • Conduct Cultural Assessment with associates from huddle. Do the results reflect a strong safety culture?

  • Observe prep room PPE. Is it available and in good and clean condition?

  • Do front end observations reflect associates practicing proper lifting?

  • Observe Prep room work habits. Does the area reflect a safe culture?

  • Observe holding boxes. Does the area reflect a safe cultulre

  • Review current accident log in detail. Is the store management team communicating to risk and are the logs being kept?

  • Are accident investigations being completed on all incidents and on file to be inspected?

  • Ask 3-5 associats in the store if they know how many accidents have occured or the store's accident frequency.

  • Is the cleaning cart clean and stocked to plan? Is it located on the front end. Ask 3-5 associates what Absorb is used for.
