High Ropes Rescue

  • Other participants are stopped and given instructions

  • Attaches rescue system (Alloy caribiner attached to Steel Rig caribiner) to own harness belay loop

  • ABCDE checks conducted before left ground

  • Climbs efficiently using safe attachment points

  • Attaches rescue system to critical line. Double check all carabiners, knots and rescue equipment attachments, rescue rope tightened, and rope bag dropped safely, Audible ABCDE checks conducted on rescue setup.

  • Rope safety person on tail of rope on ground, clear directions given

  • Remove instructor safety tails. Instructor traverses along cable to ideal position from which to lower the rescuee

  • Instructor lowers to optimum position to attach and load participant.

  • Position and angle of belayers relevant to the load point for the lowering of rescuee

  • Participant attached to system using tri-lock caribiner on jag system, audible ABCDE checks are conducted

  • If required, safe use of cut away equipment (eg. knife or scissors). N/A if not required.

  • Participant hauled up using jag system. Directions given to belayers on ground about releasing rope through belay device

  • Use of lifting principles to elevate rescuee with assistance from conductor and belayers, if required

  • Uses rope safety person on tail end of rope on ground, gives them clear instructions

  • Lowers in a safe and controlled manner while managing patient

  • If required, have someone assist or support the participant when they are near the ground

  • Time taken for rescue
