Yards

  • The yard area should be neat and tidy.

  • Check the branch does not have too many empty/unused pallets taking up valuable storage space or obstructing access to stock etc. <br>Empty/unused pallets should be stacked neatly and straight(preferably grouped by pallet branding)

  • Check that there is not a buildup of rubbish, scrap product, empty boxes etc cluttering the yard area.

  • Check that rubbish skips are not overflowing rubbish, waste paper cardboard etc. Branches must contact the skip supplier to arrange a rubbish collection.

  • Check that the yard does not have a large number of weeds or a buildup of leaves etc.

  • Check there is no buildup of cigarette butts.<br>Smoking is only allowed in the designated smoking area and cigarette butts must be in the butt out bin.

  • Staff/management must not park in prime designated customer parking areas

  • Is the branch signage in good condition? Colour, correct placement, wear & tear.

Gardens

  • The garden area should be neat & tidy.

  • Garden should not have a large number of weeds of buildup of leaves etc.

  • Gardens should not be overgrown or blocking access, Windows or signage.

Kitchen

  • Check that the branch kitchen area is kept in a clean & tidy state(i.e clean bench, tables, sink, fridge,microwave, toaster etc.)

Toilets & Bathrooms

  • Check that the toilets, urinals, sinks etc are kept in a tidy state(i.e it is obviously regularly cleaned etc.)<br>Check staff and customer toilet areas if they are separate.

  • Soap, hand wash and paper towel should be readily available for staff and customer use.

  • Ensure there is not rubbish, empty boxes, piles of magazines etc left lying around the toilet and bathroom area in an untidy state.

  • Branch managers to ensure cleaners are doing an adequate cleaning job at all times(issues need to be raised with cleaning supervisor during monthly visits or escalated to facilities dept.)

Warehouse

  • The warehouse should be neat and tidy.

  • Check that the stock is stacked in a safe manner. i.e not stacked too high or blocking aisles or exits.

  • Check that the product stored on pallets is wrapped/strapped etc. Ensure pallets are all correctly locked into racking.

  • Check that there is not a buildup of rubbish, empty boxes etc. cluttering the warehouse floor.

  • Check for overflowing rubbish bins. Rubbish bins should be emptied regularly.
