Vehicle Cleanliness

  • Is the vehicle clear of any obstacles that may interfere with the drivers ability to operate the vehicle? Example: Loose trash, obstructions blocking the view of the driver such as cracked windshield, or dirt/ mud/ debris that could interfere with the controls.

  • If no, corrective action must be taken before driver leaves.

Seat/ Seat Belts

  • Is the seat adjusted to allow full manipulation of controls?

  • Does you and your passengers seat belts work properly?

Vehicle Damage

  • Is there no damage to the vehicle? If there is, please take pictures of each incident? (large scratches in paint, dents, holes in panels, etc...)

Mirrors/Lights/ Windows

  • Are all lights working and in good condition? (I.E. blinkers, high beams, lenses are not overly foggy)

  • If no, corrective action must be taken before driver leaves.

  • Are the windows and mirrors clean and in good working condition? Mirrors adjusted for the driver to make full use when backing up/ changing lanes?

Emergency Equipment

  • Vehicle has at least one spare fuse for each type of fuse used?

  • The vehicle has a first aid kit that can accommodate all passengers?

  • The vehicle has a roadside emergency kit complete with three bidirectional emergency reflective triangles?

  • Is there a fire extinguisher that is readily accessible and mounted in the truck? Is the inspection current?

Insurance Card

  • Is there a current copy of the insurance card in the vehicle?

  • If no, corrective action must be taken before driver leaves.

Vehicle Registration

  • Is the vehicle's registration current and a copy of the registration in the vehicle?

  • If no, corrective action must be taken before driver leaves.

Fuel Card

  • Is there a Element Fuel Card assigned to the truck/driver? And, is the fuel card present?

Engine Compartment

  • Does the vehicle have the proper oil level?

  • If no, corrective action must be taken before driver leaves.

  • Are indicator lights in cab not illuminated and gauges reading properly? (I.E. check engine light, low battery, over-heat)

Tires

  • Are tires inflated to proper PSI? Are tires in good overall condition? (tread missing, bulges, cuts, tears or worn)

  • If no, corrective action must be taken before driver leaves.

Doors/ Lift-gate

  • Do all doors close/lock properly including the back door and is it secured with a lock?

  • If no, corrective action must be taken before driver leaves.

Undercarriage/ Suspension

  • Is the vehicle free of parts/ debris hanging from the undercarriage that would inhibit or be unsafe?

  • If no, corrective action must be taken before driver leaves.

Accident Response Kit

Driver Inspection Authorized Driver. In accordance with BMS's driver policy, is the driver an authorized driver.

Driver License

  • As required, does the driver have a valid driver license on his/her possession while operating a company owned vehicle?
