  • Is the Scaff Tag prominently displayed next to the access point and has it been correctly filled in and signed

  • Is the scaff tag within the 7 day inspection period

  • Do you have a copy of the TG20 Cert or a Design for the scaffold

  • Has the scaffold been erected in accordance with the TG20 compliance sheet or design provided

  • Have all ties been set at the frequency of the compliance sheets or design drawing, and appear to be correctly installed

  • Are the anchor ties tagged

  • Are all footings founded on suitable sole pads/base plates

  • Are ladder hatches installed correctly with a sufficient gap in the boards to allow easy passage of persons

  • Have the ladder gates/hatches been installed correctly ensuring they close when not in use

  • Are all ladders correctly secured with either ladder clamps or blue rope and on an even foundation

  • Is all bracing set at the correct intervals and within 300mm of the node point

  • Are handrails installed to the correct heights (470/950mm)

  • Have toe boards been fitted correctly with a minimum of 2 clips

  • Are all platform boards in good condition (no splits/gaps/notches or twists)

  • Are there any trip hazards created by overlapping boards (apart from returns)

  • Have all spare scaffold materials been removed from site

  • Scaffolding as described has now been completed in accordance with client requirements & TG20:21 and/or design. It is structurally sound (at the time of this handover inspection) and should only be used and loaded in accordance with provided design loading's shown in this handover

The detailed requirements of the Work at Height Regulations 2005 with regards to guardrails, working platforms, toeboards, bracing & ties have been complied with.

  • Scaffolding is only safe if you comply with regulations and
    ALWAYS ;-
    > Ensure the scaffold specification meets your requirements
    > Check the use and loading limits within this document is what you have specified
    > Inspect the scaffold before signing and accepting the handover certificate
    > Ensure the 7 day inspections are carried out and are recorded
    > Keep this report on-site during construction work and thereafter in your office for 3 months after the dismantle
    > Use suitable warning signs for incomplete or unsafe scaffolds
    > Spread the loads, instruct all users of the maximum loading specified
    > Ensure where required you have requested a suitable loading tower/walk-out for waste disposal
    > Report any damage to any scaffold materials/components (erected or not) to the scaffold contractor

    Scaffolding can be very dangerous if abused, so
    NEVER;-
    > Remove ties
    > Remove/adjust/modify or alter any part of the scaffold
    > Overload the scaffold
    > Allow digging under or near the scaffold
    > Add sheeting or netting unless the scaffold has been designed for it
    > Use a forklift to load directly onto an access scaffold
