Before you leave the Yard/Workshop

  • Have you got 1 x B7125 oil filter and 40L 15w-40 oil

  • Have you got 1 x BF 7673-D and 1 x Sakura Fuel/Water Seperator SF-1912-30

  • Have you got 1 x Outer Air filter PA2673

  • Have you got 30L of EP Plus 220 Head and oil filter BT 839-10

  • Have you got enough empty drums and drain trays

  • Have you got 3 oil sample bottles

  • Have you completed any required risk assesments

  • Stop and ask your supervisor

Complete Service

  • Complete Isolation of Equipment and ensure risk assessment has been signed and complete. Stop the job and make changes if necessary.

  • Drain Engine oil into waste oil Drums without spilling any oil onto ground. Take oil sample half way through drain. Close drain tap when complete

  • Remove engine oil filters using filter strap and discard into correct filter bin and clean filter housing face with a clean rag

  • Prime new oil filter with 15w40 oil and apply a thin layer onto the seal face, hand tighten the filter then using the filter strap tighten a further 1/4 turn.

  • Refill engine to correct level with 15w-40 Diesel engine oil

  • Remove Fuel filters and discard into correct filter bin

  • Prime new fuel filters and install hand tight onto housing, tighten another 1/4 turn with filter strap

  • Remove outer air filter, check inner filter nut is in place and tight, Replace outer air filter and nut seal. Discard old filter in the correct bin.

  • Drain head oil and refill oil to correct level and make sure system is bleed correctly with 220 Gear oil

  • Drain Bean pump oil and refill to correct level with 15w-40 Engine oil

Service checks

  • Check track drive planetary oil level

  • Check track tension and general condition

  • Check for excess oil leaks around rig

  • Check Alternator belt tension and adjust if required

  • Remove battery box lid and check battery terminal tension and condition, clean if necessary.

  • General walk around of rig inspecting for any cracks of signs of wear.

  • Check all EMERGENCY stops are working

  • Stop and repair or tag out of service

Complete Job

  • Have you cleaned up any rubbish from service, Filter boxes, plastic wrap etc

  • Have you contained all or any oil spills

  • Have you double checked over your work and are satisfied

  • Have you removed you locks and are ready to start the rig

  • Continuously pump primer lever on side of fuel filter block until no resistance felt, run for 3 minutes and shutdown, check oils and check for any leaks

  • Discard rubbish in the correct bins, Used and empty Oil filters into BLUE hydrocarbon bin. Empty drums, Rags and spill matting into RED Hydrocarbon bin. Air filters and rubbish into general bin.
