Is the site free from odour emitting from the site?

Is the site free from any noise emitting from site?

Is any litter controlled on and off site?

Are the internal and external roads clear from mud & debris caused as a result of the companies acts and/or emissions?

Are spill kits available and in the correct location?

Is there sufficient pest control on site?

Is the main access gate free of obstruction?

Are pedestrian walkways clear of obstruction?

Is pedestrian to vehicle segregation in place and in good order?

Are all vehicle routes free of obstruction?

Are all floor areas, stairs & walkways inside the processing areas free of material and without any slip or trip hazards?

Is all waste stored securely?

Are oil drum, bottles etc. placed on a suitable bund?

Are all bunds in good repair and are there enough bunds available?

Are all gas bottles locked away in a suitable gas cage?

Are all roller shutter doors in good conditions and have they been serviced within the past 12 months?

Have all fixed and mobile ladders been inspected to ensure they remain fit for purpose?

Are drains clear and running freely where applicable?

Are the roads ways and surfaces in good condition?

Are site boundaries secure and clear from debris / items / materials stacked against them?

Has there been any other damage found on site?

Are all emergency exits unlocked, accessible and ready for use in the event on an emergency?

Are all fire extinguishers in place with a current record of inspection displayed?

Has the fire alarm been tested within the last week?

Are fire evacuation plans displayed on notice boards?

Is there a sufficient number of fire marshals identified with training in date?

Is suitable and sufficient guarding in place to prevent contact with dangerous components?

Are floors surfaces even and uncluttered?

Have electrical isolation procedures been followed? (if required - for all cleaning and maintenance tasks)

Has one E-stop been tested and did it work?

Visually inspect 3 emergency stops - are they in good repair and free from obstruction?

Spot check working practices - is the work being undertaken in line with company risk assessments and method statements?

Is the operatives trained and competent in the task that they are undertaking?

Is the correct equipment available for the task and is it being used correctly?

Is the Daily Plant check sheet completed, signed and available for inspection?

Are all reversing and beacon lights in working condition?

Is the reversing alarm working?

Are the brakes working - ask the operator to confirm?

Is the drivers seat in good condtion

are the tyres in reasonable condition?

are seatbelts fitted and used?

is all lifting equipment in good repair e.g. chains, strapping, hydraulic lifting equipment?

Safety boot issued and worn? (where applicable)

Hard Hat issued & worn? (where applicable)

Hearing Protection worn? (where applicable)

Eye Protection worn? (where applicable)

Gloves issued, worn and suitable for task? (Re-issue were not suitable)

Are all extension leads & powered hand tools in good condition with no apparent defects?

Has PAT testing been undertaken with a current record displayed (where applicable)?

All access to substations and transformers prohibited?

Is all lighting on site operational?

Is there sufficient lighting on site to ensure that all work areas are adequately lit at all times?

Heating / cooking facilities clean and in good condition?

Tables, chairs and Worktops clean and sanitised in good condition?

Toilet and washing areas in good condition?

Hand towels and soap available in hand washing areas?

Hot water available in hand washing and kitchen areas?

Smoking area designated and cigarette ends cleaned up?

Is there suitable and sufficient first-aid provisions available on site (check that the contents of first-aid boxes are in date).

Is the first aiders training in date?

Is the list identifying first aiders displayed on the notice board(s)?

Have all accidents / incidents / near-miss reports been recorded and communicated with the relevant person?

Is hearing, glove and eye protection signage in place as required?

Is machinery signage in place?

Are no smoking signs visible at the weighbridge and entrance to shed?

Is the sign at the main gate intact and up to date?
