  • Mobile Towers (Correct, straight, undamaged components, correct assembly, double-handrails, toe-boards, stabilisers, scaff-tags, wheels inserted correctly (jubilee clip) and locked in use)

  • Scaffolds (Safe assembly, double-handrails, toe-boards, safe & undamaged ladder or stair access, trap door/gates/corral by ladder, scaff-tags, inspection records, hand-over certificates, pull test, anchors checked, SWL on loading platforms, qualified scaffolders, design calculations on file & TW Register completed where required).

  • MEWP’s: Scissor Lifts/Cherry Pickers (Inspection, correct harness & lanyard selection, trained operator).

  • Podium Steps & Delta Decks (Correct / safe assembly, stabilisers, gates closed & wheels locked).

  • Step Ladders (Justified use, Correct / safe positioning, good condition, contractor’s name).

  • Relevant Permits issued - Working at Height etc.

  • Noise & Hand Arm Vibration (HAVS) (Hearing protection zones identified and appropriately signed, HAVS monitoring taken place, correct PPE in use, paperwork completed).

  • Waste Management (Segregation, transfer notes, special wastes, etc.).

  • Temporary works / Falsework / Shuttering (Design, Falsework / Formwork Support Structure, detailed on Temporary Works Register, TW Design Brief, TW Appointment & Acceptance letters, etc).

  • Safe Plans of Action (signed by all operatives & foreman, task specific, valid).

  • Lighting (access & egress lighting, emergency escape lighting inc. battery back-up, task lighting).

  • Electrical Safety (PAT Tests, 3 - monthly test certificate, cables tagged & inspected). LOTO

  • Lifting Appliances: Hoists, Cranes, pallet trucks, gin wheels (Record of Test & Inspection, Lifting Plans, Contract Lifts / Competent Personnel)

  • Excavations and Earthworks (Safe access / egress, trench support / batters, edge protection, plant safety, signage, Inspection Records, Excavation Permit, stability of nearby structures, Confined Space?).

  • Tools & Machinery (Tools appropriate to task, correctly guarded, dust extraction, correct PPE/RPE)

  • Manual Handling (Mechanical lifting & moving equipment prioritised, max unit weight for single person less than 25Kg or otherwise if determined by risk assessment).

  • Welfare Facilities (First Aid, canteen, chairs with backs, heating, toilets, hot/cold water, soap, clean, drying room, storage, female sanitary provisions).

  • Special Hazards (Asbestos, Working Near Water, Fragile Roofs).
