Site inspection

  • Are slings being stored correctly, hung up, under shelter, away from direct sunlight

  • Do the webbing slings have Coloured tags showing expiry date

  • Are Chains stored correctly (Hung up)

  • Are one use slings being removed from reinforcement steel bundles

  • Are there collar chains for lifting of reinforcement

  • are there crane liftable waste skips on site. Are there certs for these on site

  • Are webbing slings being removed from loads and stored.

  • Are loads being correctly landed on bearers with the slings free to be removed

  • Are lifts being carried out safely

  • Were all the lifting accessories checked on site during the inspection found to be in good working order

  • Are Loads being landed stable with out risk of falling or toppling

Working at height,

  • Is the slinger working on a wagon with suitable edge protection

  • Is the slinger accessing the trailer using a suitable access system

  • Are lifting accessories being attached/ detached safely when working at height

Supervisor Duties

  • Is the supervisor carrying out Daily briefings (depending on number of men)

  • Are toolbox talks relevant to lifting operations being given to the lifting team

  • Are lifting team profiles being completed for slingers and operators

  • Are the lifting team wearing the correct PPE relevant to site requirements

  • Are lifts being carried out as per the Agreed Schedule of lifts

  • Are work areas being segregated/area controlled during lifting operations

  • Are damaged lifting accessories being destroyed-evidence from weekly checks

  • Are all the crane daily and weekly check sheets completed and up to date.
