Can all operatives reach their intended place of work in a safe manner?

Have the following areas been properly provided? – Access roads, walkways, staircases, passenger hoists, ladders, scaffold etc

Have access routes been adequately segregated to avoid conflict between pedestrians and vehicles?

Have all walkways been kept unobstructed and free of waste materials and stored goods?

Are all access routes adequately lit to allow safe passage and working conditions?

Are there adequate barriers, edge protection and signage in place?

Is the edge protection adequate to prevent falls of materials or people?

Are facilities in place to ensure the safe movement and storage of materials on to the work area?

Are there proper arrangements in place for the safe removal of excess or waste materials from the work area?

Is the work area appropriately designated as a formal construction area, with adequate warning signs of work in progress, adequate barriers and signs in place to discourage unauthorised personnel from straying into your ‘space’?

Can all tools and materials be safely taken to the work area without the need to physically carry it up ladders, etc?

Have any access equipment installed been inspected before use to ensure integrity?
