Is consistency and continuity with practices at home maintained in the service?

Is information updated throughout a child’s time in the service or as special circumstances arise e.g., a child had a bad night and may need to go to sleep earlier?

Are sleep and rest routines positive experiences by encouraging children to bring a favourite toy, comforter, and family bedding?

Is feedback provided about children’s sleep patterns via the day chart and verbally as required?

Children are not forced to sleep nor deprived of sleep?

Once asleep, are children checked every 15 minutes and cot chart completed?

Is bedding arranged to prevent cross infection?

Children are sleeping on backs, with nothing covering their face and feet to the end of the cot?

Are the sleep/ rest areas adequately ventilated with natural light?

Is bedding wiped clean with detergent and orange cloth after use?

There is no visible sign of damage on cots?

Cot sides are locked in place to ensure children’s safety.
