  • Is there evidence of management 6S support i.e. Champion & Management review in the previous 6 weeks?

  • Are there any SOPs on display, and are they up to date?

  • Does every machine have normal / abnormal indicators (Andon lights) fitted?

  • Are there any machines displaying a red Andon light that are unattended?

  • Do all measurement devices (Verniers, Micrometers…) have up-to-date calibration stickers on them?

  • Are the Daily Check Sheets visible, and up to date?

  • Are the machines running, clean and in good condition?

  • Can you see any spills or leaks?

  • If so, are they being contained, and have 3C actions recorded?

  • Can you identify the working levels of WIP?

  • Does there seem to be an excessive / abnormal amount of WIP?

  • Have you had a conversation about FOD with at least one person in that area?

  • Does that person recall having had FOD awareness training?
