  • Is the fire alarm call maintained and tested regularly?

  • When was the last time a fire alarm call was tested?

  • When was the last time the fire alarm was serviced?

Hazardous Materials

  • Are chemicals and hazardous materials stored and secured to prevent unauthorised use and access?

  • Are chemicals and hazardous materials stored in an approved cabinet?

  • Is there an exhaust fan or open window for adequate ventilation when using hazardous chemicals?

Forklift

  • Is the forklift charger kept away from combustible material?

  • Is there a current and charged fire extinguisher installed on the forklift?

Spray Booth

  • Has the spray booth been designed, constructed and installed to comply with AS/NZS 4114.1 – Spray Painting Booths?

  • Is the Spray Booth fitted with an exhaust capture system or ventilation system that includes a filter for removing airborne contaminants?

  • When was the last service conducted and is it maintained to manufacturer’s specifications?

  • Are suitable fire extinguishers readily available to spray paint booths, painting areas and paint storage areas?

  • Are they kept free from obstruction?

  • In correct storage location?

  • Are there any signs of damage to extinguishers?

  • Are extinguishers fully charged?

  • Regularly serviced within manufacturers specifications?

  • When was the last service?

Smoking Controls

  • Are there sufficient Non-Smoking signs and are these clearly visible?

  • Is there evidence of smoking in non-designated areas?

  • Is there a designated smoking area?

  • Is there adequate and visible signage and markings to indicate the area which is designated?

  • Is the cigarette dispenser regularly emptied?

  • Are there cigarette butts on the ground or in garbage bins?

  • Is there adequate distance between the building and combustible materials and the designated smoking area of at least 4m?

Rubbish

  • Is the rubbish and combustible materials stored a minimum of five metres away from the building, including wooden pallets?

  • Are dust collecting systems being emptied daily?

Hot Works

  • Have you undertaken a Hot Works Inspection and obtained a Hot Works Permit?

Electrical

  • Are there any electrical broken sockets, plug, wires or switches?

  • Are there any frayed electrical, computer or phone leads?

  • Are leads kept away from sources of damage (e.g. water, heat, vehicles, trolleys etc.)?

  • Do electrical leads have current test tags?

  • When was the last inspection by a qualified electrician held?

  • Are safety switches fitted and active to all circuits?

  • When was the last time an inspection or test was undertaken by a qualified electrician?

  • Are there any flicking or broken light fittings or globes?

  • Are light fittings clean and in good condition?

  • Is there adequate separation between the storage and sprinkler heads and/or light fittings of at least one metre?
