Purpose

To review and establish the standard operation procedures and policies applied to the use of golf buggies for Jackson's Technical Services' events and on site

Procedure

Golf buggy/carts owned by JTS may only be used on authorised sites by approved employees. It may not be used for personal business and will be considered vehicle misuse. Knowledge and compliance with NSW state laws, rules and regulations and policies are the responsibility of the driver and noncompliance may result in suspension of user privileges.

VEHICLE OPERATING STANDARDS

The driver must be in possession of a valid class C licence

Utility vehicles are to be operated at speeds no greater than 20km/h, especially in event sites and crowded pedestrian or store place areas

Operators wills top at all blind intersections and then proceed with caution

Pedestrians will be given right-of-way at all times

Operation safety includes the use of seat belts (where applicable although not compulsory) and the responsibility of regular vehicle maintenance

For buggies that can seat more the two people, extra seats must be bench type seats

For buggies that seat no more than two persons, the maximum mass limit is no more than 350kg

Conditions when using

Condition code TD1

  • Daylight / floodlit worksite use only (not required if vehicle has headlights)

Condition code SL1

  • Flashing amber beacon required and used when vehicle moving on a road or road-related area

Condition code LO3 + free text

  • Restricted to designated areas / routes

Condition code SP20

  • Speed limit to 20km/h

Vehicle requirements

These vehicles are not constructed for road use and present a road safety risk when mixing with other traffic. Conditions of operation will restrict the use of these vehicles to road-related areas such as, but not limited to, caravan parks, retirement villages and entertainment and sporting venues. Limited road access will only be allowed as a means of travelling between two road-related areas.
