WORKSHOP HYGIENE STANDARDS

  • Is the workshop free from general clutter?

  • Are Floor areas free from debris including swarf (swarf confined to swarf mats)?

  • Are cupboards / draws organised correctly and free from 'junk'?

  • Is clean as you go in operation on work tops / equipment especially in areas where activities such as grinding etc. take place?

CLEANING EQUIPMENT

  • Is cleaning equipment clean and in good condition?

  • Is cleaning equipment stored correctly? <br>WGLL - shadow board with correctly fitting equipment

  • Are sinks in the area clean and hygienic?

FOREIGN BODY CONTROLS

  • Are swarf mats in place in all key areas?

  • Are all nuts and bolts controlled? - not lose / lying around on workbenches etc.

  • Is the area free of any damaged glass / glass like material? (Including lights)

  • Food packaging (pots / boxes) is not used for storage of engineering parts

PERSONAL HYGIENE PROCEDURES

  • Is the area absent of personal possessions?

  • Is anyone in the area wearing a blue plaster? Has 'sign out' procedure been correctly followed?

  • Is the area free of any evidence of eating or drinking?

  • Are personnel in the area free of any jewellery, with exception of plain wedding band?

CLOTHING REQUIREMENTS

  • Is correct uniform / footwear being worn by all those in the area?

  • Is protective clothing available and used for activities such as grinding?

  • Is the area free from coats that should be captive to other areas (medium / base / allergen coats)?

  • Is 'other' PPE available / in a good condition / stored appropriately?

RECORDS

  • Do records appear to have been filled out correctly?

  • Is there document control on records?

  • Are factory one piece pens in use?

  • Are records free from staples?

CHEMICAL CONTROLS

  • Are all chemicals correctly labelled? (No handwritten sticky labels)

  • Are food contact and non-food contact lubricants stored separately?

ENVIRONMENTAL STANDARDS

  • Are walls, workbenches, ceilings, floor free from damage?

  • Are walls free from flaking paint?

  • Pest control - Fly killer units on (bulbs on) / traps fixed in place / no gaps around external doors

  • Restricted access to workshops - all doors secure?
