2.1 Works - Earthworks, Excavation

  • Are truck / scraper routes around site clearly designated and separate from public access areas.

  • Are compaction tests being conducted to specified Level by NATA registered tester.

2.2 Safety - Earthworks, Excavation

  • Does the contractor have utilities / services plans on site.

  • Does plant and equipment have suitable warning lights and reversing beepers

  • Are personnel in the vicinity of operating plant wearing high vis clothing and helmets where required.

2.3 Environmental - Earthworks, Excavation.

  • Is there provision to minimize dust / mud from leaving the site.

  • Do stockpiles have adequate silt runoff protection.

  • Are silt traps in place to prevent silt build up in previously installed drainage system.

3.0. ACTIVITY : PAVEMENT

Drainage

  • Pipe trench excavation - measure by tape

  • Depth of bedding & material for pipes - measure by tape<br>20mm class 3 for concrete pipe<br>7mm aggregate for UPVC pipe

  • Drainage pipe condition - visual inspection of pipes prior to laying for damaged joints or cracks

  • Drainage pipes at correct line & level - visual check to ensure pipes laid true to line & level

  • Approved jointing method applied - visual inspection

  • Depth of backfill and cover for pipes and material - measurement by tape in accordance with design/standards.<br>20mm class 2 crushed rock for all trenches under traffic able areas

  • Inside of pits rendered - visual inspection of pit walls once formwork removed

  • Step irons - required for all pits greater than 900mm depth. 300mm centres at 500mm below top of pit

  • Pit covers - visual inspection to ensure pit frame and lids in accordance with standards

  • House drain connections - visual inspection to ensure each house lot is connected

  • Is kerb & channel type and profile correct

  • Kerb & channel line & finish - visual inspection for compliance to Council standards and acceptable finish

  • Pit lintels - visual check of correct line & height

  • Are kerb markings for services being installed.

Footpaths/Shared Paths

  • Path preparation - visual inspection of boxing for alignment<br>Measure width of path to Knox standards, grade and crossfall

  • Base for paths - measurement by tape

  • Pram crossings - visual inspection and measurement to standards

  • Reinforcement mesh - visual inspection min F72 & correctly placed

  • Footpath pour - correct expansion joint, spacing and finish

  • Tactile paving to DDA compliance - visual inspection to design/standards
