Site setup and maintenance

  • Identify which ACMs are to be removed in agreement with the client

  • Check certificates for NPUs & H-type vac

  • Check negative pressure for the enclosure

Decontamination

  • Inspect all equipment to ensure that it is safe and in good working order

  • Ensure that Operatives are using correct stripping techniques

  • Monitor the effectiveness of fibre control and record information

PPE / RPE

  • Demonstrate correct use, wearing and removal of all PPE / RPE

  • Visually inspect all PPE / RPE prior to its use

  • Maintain all PPE / RPE and use the appropriate storage facility

  • Report and lost or defective PPE / RPE

  • Ensure that the correct PPE / RPE is being worn correctly at all times when required ( including setting up and waste transiting)

Cleaning and Clearance air testing

  • Explain cleaning and clearance requirements ( including 4-stage if required)

  • Carry out a visual inspection of the work area after stripping is complete

  • Explain the requirements of the analyst before clearance and inspection and sampling

  • Collect all clearance certificates from the Analyst including Area, DCU & van

Documentation

  • Know how to read and understand the tasks which are set out the method statement

  • Know how to read and understand the information which is set out in the ASB5

  • Know how to read and understand the requirements of the relevant risk assessments for the above tasks

  • Explain the importance of explaining the above information to the Operatives

  • Explain the process for changing the method statement and give an example why this might have to be done

Fault Finding

  • Explain how to spot and rectify problems with TWO of the following: (assessor to choose)

  • Explaining the importance of record keeping

  • Describe the fault reporting procedures
