  • Check switchboard for; any damage, ventilation, evidence of overheating, audible discharge, signs of vermin, combustible materials and general cleanliness.

  • Is the exterior of the switchboard clean and free from damage

  • Is the switchboard clearly labeled?

  • Are the weather seals intact and secure

  • Is the switchboard locked?

  • Are the door locks in working condition?

  • Is the switchboard door clear from obstructions.

  • Are the indicators in working condition?

  • Switchboard schedule (legend) present:

  • Are there any penetrations in the switchboard that can allow the ingress of dust or water?

  • Busbar - check condition of bus bars, especially for: discolouration from heating, damaged insulation, deformation and adequate support

  • Check condition of all neutral bars or links

  • ARC Control Devices - clean and check condition of ARC Shields and phase barriers

  • Connections, Cable Terminations: Check all electrical connections, for signs of overheating or verdigris for tightness and the making of good contact

  • Fuses, circuit breakers, switches and switch units - check condition

  • Check legend card corresponds with protective device identification

  • Circuit identify validation: random check 1 x power, 1 x light circuit to ensure legend card is correct
