Documentation

Ensure the operator's manual is easily accessible in the EWP. If the operator's manual is in poor condition or the location of the operator's manual is going to lead to deterioration or getting lost the response is to be "FAIR".

Ensure the logbook is present on the machine, any defects have been rectified or identified and reported to demonstrate the appropriate use of the logbook. If the log book is present and shows little signs of consistent use OR the machine has unreported defects - the response is to be "FAIR".

Damages

Damages are the responsibility of the hirer - these are repairs required due to neglect while on hire (if this is an on hire inspection, the damages noted will be excluded from the back charge at the end of the hire). If damage present, you are required to take photos and provide a description of the damage.

Chassis/Lower Frame

Inspect lower structure for signs of deformation and corrosion
Tie Down Point
Steering bar and cylinder
Tyres and wheels - no signs of cuts, nicks or abrasion
Wheel nuts and bolts - indicators in place and tight
Inspect axles for signs of damage
Axle extension and chassis lifting cylinder
Cowling covers - fitted and secure
Inspect drive motors for leaks and condition
Hi- Rail wheels in good condition, functioning correctly
Inspect slew gear - Ensure machine is slewed through 360 degrees
Inspect freewheeling valve for leaks and condition
Inspect wiring looms for condition and security
Fixed and oscillating axles - Function correctly
Lowering Cushion valve
Check park brake operation
Check intake and exhaust system for leaks and security
Check all gauges clearly legible and functioning
Inspect critical areas for cracks including cylinder mounts, engine mounts, pump mounts, boom mounts, boom and stabiliser bars
Inspect wiring looms and cables
Check battery terminals for tightness and cleanliness
Check engine oil level
Check hydraulic oil level
Inspect hydraulic hoses and pipes for leaks and security
Inspect hydraulic cylinders for leaks and security

Inspection verification

I have conducted a visual on hire inspection to ensure the safe hire of this unit. It is the responsibility of the hirer to ensure the unit remains safe to work at all times and is operated in accordance with OEM Operating and Maintenance instructions.
