General Safety

Procedure

  • The following procedure is to be followed:
    1. Remove grout using appropriate tools. (ensure safety and no damage to surrounding tile is accomplished.
    2. Remove tile.
    3. Remove old thinset and grout from edges
    4. Reinstall Tile as per regular installation methods
    5. Re-grout repair.
    6. Install appropriate hoarding to ensure proper setting time of tile is achieved.

  • Is the safest method of removal of grout being used?

  • Is worker aware of line of fire when using knife and equipment to remove grout.

  • Is the work being performed without damaging other tile around the repair area?

  • What method of removal of tile and thinset is used

  • Is area secured and safe procedures used to remove tile.

  • When reinstalling tile has appropriate clearance been achieved to allow tile to be set without lippage.

  • Has tile colour, dye Lot # and grout colour been verified

  • Is area hoarding in place upon completion to ensure appropriate drying time.

  • Are there carts, dollies, or other aids readily available for moving materials?
