Forecourt

  • Contact helpline to advise your site presence and auditing purposes,

  • Is the site free of any vandalism, break in or other signs of criminal activity? (Pay attention to fuel dispensers, plant room, and any above ground tanks)

  • Are forecourt and footpath areas clean and free of debris and litter?

  • Are pumps and payment terminals clean from any dust and debris?

  • Is the forecourt free of any product spillage?

  • Are tank labels and padlock (on above ground offset fill points) in good condition and locked?

  • Is the appropriate number of fire extinguishers present and date certified? (2 x per site)

  • Is first aid box content present in date inducing eye wash?

  • Is there gloves and sanitizer available to customers?

  • Are Aco drains (or similar) in good repair? e.g. not collapsed?

  • Are aco drains running clear?

  • Are caretaker’s daily audit duties completed satisfactory for all days and any necessary matters appropriately actioned?

  • Is help point cabinet clearly signed from fuel dispensers?

  • Are there any illegally parked cars on the forecourt?

  • Is all branding including canopy, pole sign, boarding, traffic signage in good condition?

  • Is there any unapproved signage in on site. Eg. Homemade signs, posters promoting non related activity, use of Certa/Tesco branding without permission’

  • Are the payment terminal(s) undamaged and have not been compromised in any way?

  • Has a test receipt been taken from every fill position?

  • Are all the forecourt/canopy lights, delivery point lights, and ancillary lights are in working order? (in some sited these are operated by a light sensor, so can not be tested)

  • Are maximum height signs in place, undamaged and clearly visible on all approaches to the fuel dispensers?

  • Is car wash, air vac, screen etc equipment and the surrounding areas clean of dirt, damage and debris?

  • Does forecourt look welcoming and customer friendly?

  • Is the landscape surrounding the forecourt but within out demise kept?

Dispensers

  • Is signage present at each pump?

  • • Fuel grade signs?

  • • Pump instruction decals?

  • • Clear dispensing instructions?

  • • Signage on suitable containers?

  • • No smoking/mobile?

  • • CCTV signs?

  • Are pump islands undamaged with no sharp edges?

  • Are the fuel dispensers undamaged, panels secure, hoses/nozzles show no sign of damage and no evidence of product leaks?

Emergency cabinet/Equipment

  • Is the “fire mans switch” clearly visible and labelled?

  • Has the overfill alarm been tested?

  • Does the DCD card provide a tank printout receipt?

  • Is a DCD key available on site?

  • Is the Safety statement and RA available in the store room?

  • Is the bin for contaminated waste available and locked?

Plant room/Cupboard equipment

  • Is plant room secure? Any evidence of forced entry?

  • Is plant room kept clean. tidy and clear of any trip hazards?

  • Any other matters of concerns or comments

  • Remember to contact helpline to lock door at close of inspection to advise you are leaving site
