Test Procedure

Confirm Project Information

  • Pipelines to be inspected and their details

  • Testing specification requirements

Initial Work Area Inspection

  • Is test area barricaded off or sufficiently delineated?

  • Is traffic control established?

  • Has a Safe Work Method Statement been completed and all control measures followed?

  • Has a Confined Space Risk Assessment & Entry Permit been completed?

  • Is the confined space equipment and procedures set up as per the Risk Assessment & Entry Permit conditions followed?

  • Structure lids removed and placed at a safe distance from the entry point

  • Environmental controls installed as and if required

Inspection Steps

  • Equipment checked and in good working order

  • Insert test plugs into the structure inlets with extendable pole if possible

  • Inflate plugs and add support as per manufacturer's specifications

  • Attach bypass plug to vacuum pump and vacuum down pipeline to test pressure

  • Allow for vacuum to stabilise for an amount of time as per specifications

  • Hold vacuum for time specified in specifications and record result

Disassemble Steps

  • Disconnect hose from vacuum pump and release pressure from pipeline

  • Release pressure from plugs and carefully retrieve plugs out of structure

  • Replace structure lids, remove barricading and return all items to test unit

Final Demobilisation

  • Notify client of results and to contact TestX office to arrange further testing or reports

  • Calibrated gauge numbers used

  • Inspector's remarks

  • Photo of work area and inspected pipeline

  • I declare that the inspection procedure was followed in accordance with the nominated specifications

  • Inspection Completed
