  • Hot and Cold outlet temperature checks should be carried out from all outlets using calibrated thermometer (therma-pen)

  • For hot water outlets measurements the outlet should be run for up to 1min and the maximum temperature obtained

  • For cold water outlet measurements the outlet should be run for 2 min and then the temperature recorded

  • Hot water outlets must attain temperature of 50C or higher within one minuit of running and cold water outlets must attain a temperature of less than 20C

  • Insert water flow temperatures

  • TMV /Mixer tap -confirm water leaving the tap is within the correct temperature range / specification of component

  • Run / flush low usage outlets

  • Visually and mechanically check check all valves, outlets and pipeworks

  • Check that thermostats are set to the correct temperatures

  • If Expansion vessel is present - flush and drain. Vent air from system is required

  • Inspect pipework for dead legs, if present flush and drain water from dead legs

  • Carry out insulation test of heater elements to earth

  • Any defects need to be reported to the store and to your line Manager
