Face Masks and Face Coverings- General

  • 1. Has your COVID-19 risk assessment identified the most appropriate face masks/coverings/shields or PPE that are required to manage the risk to employees, customers, contractors, etc.?

  • 2. Is your COVID-19 risk assessment updated regularly, in line with government guidance and at the least every four weeks?

  • 3. Are your COVID-19 related policies and procedures, up to date, and:<br><br>• Do they include a section around face masks and face coverings?<br>• Are they communicated to all staff and volunteers?

  • 4. Are policies and procedures updated regularly to ensure that the latest legal, government and scientific advice is followed?

  • 5. Where face masks/coverings are worn, is training carried out for all staff and refresher training undertaken as appropriate?

  • 6. Is the training on face masks/coverings documented,and records retained for at leastthree years?

  • 7. Is regular supervision and monitoring undertaken to ensure that face masks/coverings are worn correctly and procedures are being followed?

  • 8. Are appropriate supplies of face masks/coverings provided where the wearing of such coverings is deemed mandatory in risk assessments, policies or procedures?

  • 9. Has an alternative source of supply of face masks/coverings been identified?

Incident Reporting

  • 10. Have employees been reminded of the incident reporting procedure and occupational health support that is available?

  • 11. Is trend analysis undertaken at regular intervals to assess the possible benefits or otherwise on the wearing of face masks/coverings?
