  • Ensure all fire exits are clear of all obstacles and usable in case of an evacuation. If blocked state why

  • Ensure all walkways, red routes and trucking routes are clear of obstructions and accessible

  • All extinguishers must be in place and in date

  • Is the store sprinkler system in store filled and in working order

  • Is the store smoke heads and sounders in working order

  • Ensure all emergency exit signage meets and relates to as built drawing and Fire Safety Design Strategy 5

  • Ensure all security staff is competent and aware of M&S/Flaxman evacuation procedures. The signing book must be present at the evacuation point

  • Ensure the store evacuation point is incorporated into the sites induction. All site personnel must follow this procedure

  • Ensure a fire marshall is nominated on site. They must liaise with the store Fire Marshall and roll call all site personnel

  • Ensure all good, materials and equipment are stored in agreed locations,and away from any potential fire hazards

  • Ensure all flammable materials have relevent risk assessments and safety data sheets and have been submitted to Callidas

  • Ensure permits are in place for any live electrical works. Ensure isolations and lock offs are put in place

  • Smoking is banned everywhere on site. Ensure procedures and areas are in place and maintained for smokers

  • All food prep areas are out of bounds. Microwaves, toasters etc must be respected and kept tidy to prevent risks. This is included in the site welfare checks
