  • Are escape route kept clear and free from obstruction?

  • Are external escape routes clear and safe?

  • Do all emergency devices to fire exits work properly? (e.g. push bars, pads, turn thumb lock, etc)

  • Are all self closing fire doors in good condition and good in working order?

  • Is the indicator panel showing 'normal'? Note: panels need to be checked o a daily basis for defects, records should be kept on a weekly basis.

  • Have smoke detectors been checked for defects? Note: Battery powered detector detectors must be checked by pressing the test button.

Testing (The fire alarm system should be tested at the same time every week using a different CALL POINT each week. This ensures that all CALL POINTS are tested in turn.)
