Site Security and Fencing

  • Are controls in place to prevent unauthorised access to site? Record with photographic evidence.

  • Is the site fully enclosed and secure?

  • Are supports in place for areas of site fencing where banners or shade cloth has been installed?

  • Are there any concerns regarding site security or fencing arrangements? If so detail and photograph and assign actions? Note: If there is an immediate risk to a persons safety then instruct the works to stop and contact the person in control of site as well as Spiire Construction Team.

Temporary Traffic Management

  • Are the TTM site controls in accordance with the approved TTM plans? Record with photographic evidence.

  • Are the TTM site controls functioning to their designed intent?

  • Are the TTM site controls being modified to suit specific hours of operating as per the approved plans?

  • Is site access as per the approved TTM's, clearly identified and operating?

  • Any concerns regarding TTMP's? If so detail, photograph and assign actions. Note: If there is an immediate risk to a persons safety then instruct the works to stop and contact the person in control as well as Spiire Construction Team.

Site Compound

  • Are site facilities including toilets clean and in an orderly state?

  • Are light vehicles being parked in the designated site parking areas?

  • Does the site compound have demarcation in place for visitors?

  • Are site attendance/site sign in procedures in place for all personnel including visitors?

  • Any concerns regarding the site compound? If so detail, photograph and assign actions. Note: If immediate risk to a persons safety then instruct the works to stop and contact the person in control of site as well as Spiire Construction Team.

Excavations

  • Are excavations being adequately benched/battered in accordance with the Code of Practice for Excavation Work? http://www.legislation.act.gov.au/ni/2015-332/current/pdf/2015-332.pdf

  • Are shoring or restraint mechanisms being used in open trenches and if yes are there procedures in place (SWMS or similar) detailing the controls associated with shoring?

  • Are trenches being protected when left open overnight or for extended periods? If so detail and protection methods and photograph.

  • Any concerns regarding excavations? If so detail and photograph and assign actions. Note: If immediate risk to a persons safety then instruct the works to stop and contact the person in control af site as well as Spiire Construction Team.

Plant and Machinery

  • Are warning devices such as flashing lights and reverse beepers fitted and functioning on plant and equipment inspected? If so detail plant make, model and take photograph.

  • Are plant risk assessments being used for plant and machinery on site? If so photograph a sample with signed authorisation from works.

  • Are heavy plant haul routes clearly delineated onsite? Or is an internal site traffic control procedure in place to delineate haul routes from light vehicle movements?

  • Any concerns regarding plant and machinery? If so detail, photograph and assign actions. Note: If there is an immediate risk to a persons safety then instruct work to stop and contact the person in control of the site as well as Spiire Construction Team.

Site Environmental Controls

  • Are all site controls as documented n the stamped EPA drawings installed onsite?

  • Have silt fences been cleaned out since the last rain event?

  • Has the sediment pond been treated, approval sought from EPA and discharge occurred since the last rain event?

  • Is amendment required to the stamped EPA pollution control drawings due to changes in the work or amendment to site practices? If so detail observations and assign actions to contractors.

  • Is dust being suppressed during earthworks or excavation activities, If no then advise Spiire Construction Team and cease works.

  • Are protective measures in place for no go areas such as existing trees cultural or heritage items?

  • Any observation of impact to downstream waterways from fuel spills, improper sediment controls or improper waste management? If so detail, photograph and assign an action.

  • Are there any areas of erosion that require further control measures? If so detail, photograph and assign actions.

  • Is construction waste being stored and disposed of in accordance with the Contractors EMP?

  • Any concerns regarding Site Environmental Controls? If so detail, photograph and assign actions.
