WHS Inspection of Work Areas

  • No broken plugs, sockets or switches

  • No frayed or damaged leads

  • Testing and tagging of electrical items current (within 12 months)

  • Office areas and storerooms are clear of unnecessary clutter. There is a safe working space?

  • Adequate lighting in work areas?

  • Storerooms are clean and tidy, no redundant equipment laying around, no rubbish

  • Linen storage areas are set up correctly - nothing heavy stored above shoulder height, linen and other items can be easily accessed? No trip hazards?

  • Trolleys are well stocked with minimum cleaning equipment available on each trolley? Stored correctly when not in use? Trolleys are not overstocked.

  • Chemical storage area clean and tidy?

  • Chemicals are stored correctly, bottles and triggers in good working order. Bunding in use

  • SDS available and within 5 years of issue date

  • Chemical Register available, reviewed within 12 months

  • First Aid kit available and well stocked/ Sharps Kit available

  • Staff are aware of location of FA kit

  • Staff are aware of FA trained employee on duty (Duty manager)?

  • Work stations in good order. No clutter/double adaptors/leads crossing the floor

  • Good ventilation?

  • Employee records maintained via Flare?

  • Good ergonomics

  • WHS Communications board up and all posters displayed? Incident reporting/FA/Evacuation/Manual handling/WHS Policy/RTW

  • S&P manual available and in use. Solv is being accessed regularly and Manager reporting Incidents and Hazards as per policy available

  • Training records up to date including Tool Box Talks, Hotel Inductions, Employee CompetencyAssessments Completed
