Section 4

Power and Earthing

  • Power cable neat and secure and doesn’t cross any sharp edges

  • Earth connected correctly, terminated with correct lugs and correct cable sizes per specification

  • Earth bar in rack mounted as per specification

  • Several Photos may be required to demonstrate compliance. Suggest close ups for each characteristic. Looking for cabling route within rack and correct CB utilisation. Showing that all power connections are terminated correctly, neat and secure, doesn’t cross sharp edges, earth is connected correctly etc.

Section 5

Power HC-PDP Installation

  • HC-PDP is installed in correct location as per design

  • HC-PDP Mounted as per Specifications and Secure

  • Red and blue power cables correctly terminated in HC-PDP

  • HC-PDP Is dual fed Via 2 Power Planes with Correct CB’s Size as per design

  • All Cables Labelled with correct labels at both HC-PDP and LOD

  • Labelling should be secured in label pockets or using Brady labels (wrapped not flagged)

  • All power cables are secure and not run over sharp or rough edges

  • All CBs Labelled at HC-PDP and LOD

Cabling

  • Cabling is secured to rack internal ladder tray by appropriate methods, i.e. Cat6 cabling with velcro tabs, other cabling with velcro tabs or cable ties<br>

  • Several Photos may be required to demonstrate compliance. Suggest close ups for each characteristic. Looking to see that cabling is neat and secure. Ensuring cabling route does not impede replacing any cards and that fans and air vents are not blocked by cabling.

Labelling

  • Ensure all labelling is applied and show an example of each, i.e. rack, subrack/s, power cables, data cables, fibre

  • Printed not handwritten

  • Correctly formatted

  • Secured in pockets, printed on Brady labels or Dymo stickers where allowed

  • Several Photos may be required to demonstrate compliance. Suggest close ups for each characteristic. Ensure all cables and subrack are labelled. Close ups should be used so printing can be read on labels.
